Though the actress was keen on doing the project which has got Emraan Hashmi and Abhay Deol in the lead, par yeh ho na saka! For Dibakar, she was the right choice; the role requires a girl who looks half Indian and half Caucasian. Obviously, he had Kat in mind, but as this pretty lass is busy in a Yash Raj rom com she can’t squeeze out time for Dibakar.
“Katrina was ideal. But she had other career plans,” Dibakar is quoted as saying by a daily. Now the makers are searching frantically for the new Shanghai face. Casting agencies in Europe and North America are given the task to find the right girl as shooting starts in three months.
